Living in a big and lively city as Barcelona is amazing, but let’s admit it, sometimes you just need a break from people and crowded streets.
That’s why around one month ago Giulia went with some friends on a relaxing camping weekend in Siurana, a small village in the Tarragona area on the Prades Mountains.
Located on the mountains and surrounded by stunning red cliffs, this place is very popular among climbers and offers fantastic views over the valley and the nature.

Siurana is simply perfect if you want to take a break from the city, stay in touch with the nature, try plenty of outdoor activities and taste good wine.
We had the chance to spend an hour kayaking on the peaceful lake, completely alone surrounded by water and mountains, we visited the small village and its castle, took a walk and enjoyed a local wine festival in Cornudella de Montsant, another picturesque village located around 30 minutes by car from Siurana.
Tips & Tricks
Accommodation
I strongly recommend Camping Siurana, a nice and well equipped camping spot where you can choose among free camping areas, small bungalow for 2 or 4 people, mobile homes and rooms. We stayed in a mobile home for 4 people, it was cozy and comfortable for the weekend
Food
A weekend is not enough to try out all the best restaurants, but the restaurant El Bassot in Cornudella is definitely worth a visit for dinner. We got recommended from a local and we loved the friendly atmosphere and of course the food (price: around 25€ for a 2-course menu, water and dessert)
If you’re looking for a nice spot to have lunch right in Siurana instead you shouldn’t miss (name), where you can enjoy a great view over the valley.
