Barcelona is an incredible city that offers everything: city vibe, plenty of events and festivals, vibrant nightlife, delicious food, amazing culture and beach life.
No matter if you’re a party animal, a foodie, a history lover or you simply want to spend some relaxing days and enjoy the beach, you’ll find everything you’re looking for in Barcelona.
Giulia has been living there since a couple of years now and what amazes her the most is that she still discovers new spots every week.
She’ll be sharing some tips along the way, but let’s start with one of the most impressive things to see in Barcelona: the view over the city.
Some spots are a bit more touristics, some others are more local, here are our 5 favourite viewpoints in the Catalonian capital.
1. Bunquers del Carmel
Situated on the Rovira’s hill, the Bunquers are one of the city’s hidden gems as they’re not popular among tourists and are one of the few FREE Barcelona’s attractions. From there you’ll be able to enjoy a stunning view over the whole city, as well as to visit the old bunkers, which were used as anti-crafts batteries during the Spanish Civil War.
Also, it’s one of the few spots from where you can admire the sunset, so make sure to bring a towel, a bottle of good wine and some snack to arrange a picnic at sunset time.

How to get there?
By bus: lines 24, 92, 114, 119 and V17
By metro: line 4 until station Guinardò i Hospital de Sant Pau or line 5 until La Teixonera
The easiest way if you’re in the city centre is taking the bus 24 from Plaza Catalunya, which will take you directly there and you’ll only have to walk for around 10 minutes.

2. Tibidabo
Tibidabo is a mountain overlooking Barcelona where you can also find the oldest amusement park in the world and the Roman Catholic church Sagrat Cor. The atmosphere over there is simply magical, a unique mix of history, nature, fairy tale and of course a stunning view over the city and its coastline.
The ticket that gives you access to all the park’s attractions is quite expensive (28€) so we recommend you to buy single tickets for the panoramic attractions you want to do, which is only 2€ per ticket… Unless you have children :)
Keep your camera ready if you go for the panoramic wheel Giradabo and for the Talaia. This emblematic ride, opened in 1921, will give you breath-taking views of Barcelona from a height of 550 metres above sea level!

How to get there?
The easiest way is definitely by taking the so called Tibibus from the central Plaza Catalunya. This bus only stops there and the ticket is 6€ for the round trip.

3. Park Guell
Park Guell is a public park and architectural complex located on Carmel Hill and represents one of Gaudi’s main works. Barcelona itself is very often associated with this impressive piece of art, in particular with the colorful mosaic decorating the park’s main area and with its huge salamander made out of mosaic, which is also one of the city’s symbols.
From here not only you can enjoy a stunning view over Barcelona, but you can also admire the amazing architecture and take a walk in the park surrounding the complex.

How to get there?
By bus: line 24 from Plaza Catalunya
By metro: green line (L3) until Lesseps or Vallarca + 15 minutes walk
We recommend you to take the metro if you want to stay fit :)

4. Montjuïc
Montjuïc is a hill located in the centre of Barcelona, starting from Plaza Espanya. It’s famous for its park, its castle, its art museum and for the Olympic stadium. We recommend you to visit Montjuïc in the late afternoon, then enjoy the sunset and stay until the night for the unique water and light shows of the Magic Fountain. It starts at 21 and every 20 minutes there’s a new one with a different music every time. You definitely can’t miss it! Check out the exact timetable here.

How to get there?
If you’re staying in the city centre the easiest way to get there is with the green or red metro line (L3 or L1) until Plaza Espanya. You’ll just have to climb up some stair to enjoy another fantastic view over Barcelona.

5. W Hotel
The W Hotel, also known as Hotel Vela, is a modern and luxury hotel located along the Barceloneta boardwalk and overlooking the sea. It usually holds different events and conferences and is also one of the city’s symbols. If you want to feel like a VIP for one night check out its ECLIPSE rooftop bar on the 26th floor, enjoy the view and a cocktail...or two!

How to get there?
By bus: lines 17, 39 and 64 stop right in front of the hotel
By metro: yellow line (L2) until Barceloneta station + 10 minutes walk

We hope our suggestions were helpful and we can’t wait to see your pictures of Barcelona with a view :)
